The 26-year-old Hagerstown resident made two stops to the Meritus Medical Center in four days after suffering gunshot wounds in separate shootings, according to police.

Officers from the Hagerstown Police Department were called at around 2:40 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 15 to the 200 block of West Franklin Street, where there was a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, they found Jackson suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder, and he was taken to the hospital for treatment and evaluation of a non-life-threatening injury.

According to police, Jackson was no stranger to the Meritus Medical Center, and was recognized immediately as the same person who was treated earlier in the week on Monday, Nov. 11 for a gunshot wound to his leg.

In the past week, investigators from the Hagerstown Police Department first arrested local resident Cameron Taylor Cross, 27, for the Nov. 11 shooting, who was charged with attempted first-degree attempted murder, assault, and multiple weapons offenses.

Then on Sunday, authorities announced that Ft. Pierce, Florida resident Antonio Jefferson was apprehended in the 400 block of Jonathan Street for the second shooting on Nov. 15.

At the time he was tracked down, police noted he was in possession of cocaine.

Jefferson was charged with possession with the intent to distribute, police say, and charges for the shooting were pending as of Monday, Nov. 18.

Investigators say that they do not believe the incidents are connected and each case has a separate suspect; however, they are both believed to be targeted and the shooters were known to Jackson.

Both shootings remain under investigation.
